Government Day Secondary School Mahuta in Dandume Local Government is experiencing a remarkable transformation thanks to the Agile Project.
The initiative has provided the school with new computers, independent solar-powered inverters, and a mega grant for comprehensive renovation.
According to Vice Principal Sani Shehu, these upgrades have significantly enhanced the school’s appeal, prompting some parents to transfer their children from private institutions.
Shehu praised the administration of Governor Dikko Umar Radda and the Agile Project’s state coordinator for their unwavering commitment to improving educational infrastructure.
The renovations have given the school a fresh, modern look, with ongoing construction work ensuring that the facilities meet the highest standards.
Chairman of the School-Based Management Committee (SBMC), Alhaji Magaji Mahuta, expressed his delight at the support received.
He emphasized the importance of direct labor in executing projects, particularly in areas facing security challenges, to ensure quality work at reduced costs.
Mahuta also called on the state Ministry of Education to consider fencing the school to prevent unnecessary disruptions during school hours.
The renovation of the school’s science laboratories—covering physics, chemistry, and biology—has been a standout improvement. With these upgrades, student performance in science subjects is expected to see a significant boost.
As the renovations continue, Government Day Secondary School Mahuta is on track to become a model of excellence in education, setting new standards for public schools in the region.
