NSCDC Katsina Gears Up for National Protest, Commandant’s Urgent Call for Peace

In a crucial press briefing at the NSCDC Katsina Command Headquarters, State Commandant Jamilu A. Indabawa highlighted the imminent national protest set for 1st August 2024.

Addressing management staff, officers, and the public, Indabawa emphasized the importance of lawful and peaceful demonstrations amidst Nigeria’s pressing socioeconomic and security challenges.

With a stern warning against criminal elements exploiting the protest, the Commandant reassured that the NSCDC, in collaboration with other security agencies, is fully prepared to safeguard critical national assets and maintain public order.

“We have deployed a mix of armed, unarmed, and undercover operatives to ensure a secure environment for lawful activities, including peaceful protests,” Indabawa stated.

He urged youths to reject incitements to violence and pledged strict action against any disruptions.

The NSCDC’s commitment to human rights and ethical conduct was also reaffirmed, with a promise of accountability for any misconduct by its officers.
