ASR Initiative Earmarks N500m for Customs 30-Bed Hospital In Bauchi

The Abdul Samad Rabiu (ASR) Initiative for Africa has earmarked the sum of N500 million for Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) as intervention for social responsibility to the service.

The ASR Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ubon Udoh said the amount is part of the N10 billion the initiative donated to the security sector to support security agencies in the country.

Performing the ground breaking ceremony of 30-bed Ultra-Modern Referral Hospital for the Bauchi Zonal Customs, the ASR Managing Director said the project could have been anything, but the Customs leadership decided to build a hospital, thereby putting the welfare of men, women, officers and families of the NCS first.

Dr. Ubon Udoh gave other ongoing projects with the security agencies as a Centre with the Nigerian Air Force worth N25 billion, Hospital for the Nigerian Navy for N2 billion, and donated a N4.5billion for 120-bed for the Nigeria Police Force, and a grant of N1 billion for equipment.

‘”We are currently working on projects with the Nigerian Immigration Service, Correctional Centre to build staff housing, also a project for the welfare of the men, we are building an Eye-Centre with the DSS, and so many projects aligned which we are implementing under this N10billion grant of ASR’.

Udoh expressed gratitude to the contractors executing the ASR Initiative projects, revealing that the ASR has 58 ongoing projects, apart from the security sector grants in Nigeria, and sixteen across the African continent.

He described the Bua Group Executive Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu as a man of vision and passion, who believes in giving and creating Africa as his platform where he can project the giving and help people clear away to a better Nigeria.
