In the early hours of Tuesday, the Katsina Police Command thwarted a bandits’ kidnap attempt in Dutsinma LGA.
The bandits, armed with dangerous weapons, had attacked a compound behind Comprehensive Quarters, injuring one person and abducting 14 occupants.
Swift action by the DPO Dutsinma led to a fierce gun battle, resulting in the rescue of 10 kidnapped victims.
Unfortunately, the injured victim later succumbed to injuries in the hospital.
Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, has dispatched a search and rescue team to locate the remaining victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
