Dr. Tiri Gyan David, a lecturer at the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) and Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics, Extension, and Rural Development, was killed in a bandit attack early Tuesday morning.
The assailants, armed with sophisticated weapons, stormed his residence in Yarima Quarters, Dutsinma, around 1:30 am, firing sporadically to terrorize the community.
In addition to the brutal killing, the bandits abducted two of Dr. David’s children, plunging the area into further distress.
Katsina Police Command spokesman Abubakar Sadiq confirmed the incident, promising a detailed statement soon.
This attack underscores the persistent insecurity plaguing Dutsinma and other frontline local government areas in Katsina State, despite ongoing efforts to restore peace.
