The troops of Operation Desert Sanity III and Operation Hadin Kai neutralized six Boko Haram terrorists at their enclave in Lawanti, Sambisa Forest.
On May 17, 2024, the troops, in collaboration with a hybrid force and elements of the Civilian Joint Task Force, overran the terrorists’ stronghold after an intense engagement.
According to sources, the insurgents fell under the overwhelming superior firepower of the troops as they attempted to ambush the advancing forces on their withdrawal route.
In addition to eliminating the threat, the troops successfully recovered several weapons from the defeated terrorists, marking another significant blow to Boko Haram’s operational capabilities.
