The attention of the Katsina State Government has been drawn to a hurriedly assembled press statement by the Social Democratic Party, clearly authored by individuals who have remained in deep slumber while genuine development takes place across our beloved state. Like the proverbial owl that sees darkness where others witness dawn, the SDP appears oblivious to the giant strides Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has recorded across every sector of governance.
Perhaps if they emerged occasionally from their political hibernation, they would witness firsthand over 129 kilometres of rural access roads being constructed, not less than 75 schools being rebuilt, the hospitals being equipped, and the communities being secured through innovative approaches like the Community Watch Corps that has recruited over 1,500 operatives with modern equipment.
In true Hausa wisdom, “Mai hankali ya san inda aka yi aikin gaskiya” – the discerning knows where genuine work is being done. While the SDP conjures baseless allegations from the comfort of their political obscurity, Governor Radda continues his relentless pursuit of the “Building Your Future” agenda.
The N5 billion Women Empowerment Grant benefiting 7,000 women, the recruitment of over 7,000 teachers under the S-Power Scheme, the 40,000 metric tonnes of fertilizer distributed to farmers, and the significant reduction in bandit activities across frontline local governments are not political rhetoric but documented realities that even the blind can feel and the deaf can hear whispered in every market square.
We understand the frustration of a political party that has remained largely irrelevant in Katsina’s democratic discourse, but manufacturing controversies and peddling unfounded insinuations will not suddenly grant them the political relevance they desperately seek.
The people of Katsina are not easily deceived by hollow statements crafted to create confusion where clarity exists. They witness daily the unprecedented development that has earned Governor Radda national recognition, including the recent “Best Performing Governor of the Year 2025” award.
Without ambiguity, no amount of politically motivated press releases, baseless insinuations, or desperate attempts at controversy will distract His Excellency from the sacred mandate entrusted to him by the good people of Katsina State. We invite the SDP leadership to step out of their echo chambers, tour the state, and witness the ongoing transformation.
If you truly seek the truth, embark on a journey and see for yourself. Governor Radda remains focused on building Katsina’s future, and that future is already taking shape before our very eyes.
