Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has once again proven that purposeful leadership yields tangible results—this time, with a transformative wave across the healthcare sector.

Since assuming office in May 2019, Governor Zulum has made healthcare delivery a frontline priority, integrating it into his broader vision of rebuilding Borno from the ashes of insurgency to a state of dignity, wellness, and hope.

From constructing fully equipped primary healthcare centers in remote communities to upgrading general hospitals across the state’s three senatorial zones, Zulum’s administration has brought critical services closer to the people.

Under his watch, hundreds of thousands have benefited from free medical outreach programs, improved maternity care, and better access to lifesaving drugs.

Among the notable interventions are the establishment of the State University Teaching Hospital, construction of over 40 new healthcare facilities, recruitment of qualified medical personnel, and the renovation of several General Hospitals.

Zulum also ensured that health workers posted to rural areas received special allowances, accommodation, and security support.

“Healthcare is a human right, not a privilege,” Zulum reiterated during the recent commissioning of a 100-bed hospital in Gwoza. “We are committed to ensuring that no citizen in Borno is left behind, regardless of location or status.”

Tagged under the broader development drive of Zulum 1339 Capital Projects, the governor’s healthcare strides are part of a legacy shaping the future of public service delivery in Nigeria.

As 2025 approaches, Zulum’s healthcare revolution stands as a model worthy of emulation—proving that even in the most challenging environments, strong leadership can deliver impactful change.
