As the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations draw near, the Senior Special Assistant to Yobe State Governor on Security Matters, Brigadier General Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd), has assured residents of robust security arrangements to guarantee a peaceful and hitch-free Sallah across the state.
In a press briefing held in Damaturu on Tuesday, Brig Gen Abdulsalam stated that the state government, under the leadership of His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni, is working closely with all security agencies to ensure that Yobe remains calm and safe throughout the festive period.
“We want to reassure our citizens that this year’s Sallah celebrations will be marked in an atmosphere of peace, unity, and security,” he said. “Our security architecture has been fortified. We have intensified intelligence gathering and surveillance, especially in strategic locations across the 17 local government areas.”
Brig Gen Abdulsalam commended the efforts of the military, police, NSCDC, DSS, and other security operatives for their unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order in the state. He urged residents to cooperate with security personnel, remain vigilant, and promptly report any suspicious movements.
He also called on religious and community leaders to continue preaching peace and unity, stressing that Sallah is a time of reflection, sacrifice, and togetherness.
“Governor Buni’s administration remains committed to the protection of lives and property. We are building a safer Yobe, and we ask for your prayers and support,” he added.
The Senior Special Assistant extended warm Sallah greetings to all Yobe indigenes and wished them a joyful and secure Eid celebration.
