COAS Lauds Troops’ Valor in Zamfara, Vows Increased Support

Today, in a remarkable show of appreciation, Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja hailed the unwavering resilience and dedication of troops from the 1 Brigade Nigerian Army in the ongoing battle against terrorism and insurgency in North West Nigeria.

During his operational visit to Gusau, Zamfara State, Gen Lagbaja received a comprehensive briefing from Brig Gen Sani Ahmed, the Commander of 1 Brigade, on the remarkable successes achieved by the troops in Operation Desert Sanity II across Zamfara and neighboring states.

Gen Lagbaja pledged to bolster the Brigade’s efforts by providing additional combat enablers and operational necessities, ensuring their enhanced effectiveness in safeguarding their designated Area of Responsibility.

Amidst his visit, the COAS also extended his gratitude to HRH Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Bello Sarkin Katsinan Gusau, the Emir of Gusau, and the supportive people of Gusau for their continuous backing of the troops and the Nigerian Army at large.

He expressed optimism that, with sustained support and collaboration from the community, the challenges of terrorism and insurgency will be decisively overcome.
