In a move to deepen inter-agency collaboration and enhance emergency response coordination in Katsina State, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Corps Commander Maxwell K. Lede, paid a courtesy visit to the Federal Fire Service Command on Thursday, 22nd May 2025.
The visit, described as timely and strategic, was hosted by Assistant Commandant of Fire (ACF), Abdullahi Aliyu, who warmly received CC Lede and his team. The two commanders held discussions centered on strengthening partnerships, enhancing operational synergy, and improving service delivery in the state.
Speaking during the visit, CC Lede emphasized the need for closer collaboration between both agencies, especially in tackling emergencies. He recalled the devastating petroleum tanker explosions that rocked parts of Katsina late last year and early this year, stressing that such incidents underscore the urgency for joint preparedness and rapid response strategies.
“No agency can function in isolation,” Lede remarked. “Our visit today is not only to familiarize ourselves with the leadership here but to seek areas where we can work hand-in-hand for the safety of our citizens.”
In response, ACF Aliyu expressed appreciation for the FRSC’s proactive engagement, noting the importance of inter-agency cooperation in fulfilling their shared mandates. He revealed that the Federal Fire Service recently recruited additional personnel to boost efficiency and requested the Sector Commander’s support in engaging the trainees through practical exercises involving fire truck operations.
The visit concluded with a mutual commitment to enhance operational coordination, share resources where possible, and foster continuous dialogue for improved emergency management across Katsina State.
