In a powerful show of compassion and leadership, Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, once again proved that humanity stands at the core of governance.
While en route to Marte Local Government Area just 48 hours after a brutal Boko Haram attack, Governor Zulum made an unplanned stop — not for ceremony, but for service. Spotting a weary group of internally displaced persons (IDPs) trekking back to their ravaged communities, the Governor ordered his convoy to a halt and personally ensured they were given a lift.
To many, it was a small act of kindness. But to the displaced families, it was a moment of hope, a reminder that they are not forgotten.
“In times of pain and uncertainty, leadership isn’t just about giving orders — it’s about giving people strength,” one IDP said tearfully.
Governor Zulum’s action was more than just logistics — it was a loud statement of solidarity and empathy, demonstrating that even in the face of terror, compassion must lead the way.
