The Katsina State Police Command has announced a major security breakthrough for April 2025, revealing the arrest of over 200 suspects and the rescue of more than 130 kidnapped victims across the state.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, during a press briefing held at the State Command Headquarters on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Shehu.
According to the PPRO, the suspects were apprehended for various crimes, including armed robbery (25 suspects), kidnapping (15), murder and culpable homicide (30), and unlawful possession of firearms (3). An additional 200 suspects were arrested for various other offences.
In a breakdown of the command’s April achievements, Aliyu stated that two locally made Dane guns, two stolen vehicles, and two stolen motorcycles were recovered. The command also retrieved 174 rustled animals and intercepted large quantities of illicit drugs including 114 Exzol tablets, 8 Tramadol tablets, 55 D5 tablets, and 78 bags of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis.
DSP Aliyu praised the leadership of IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun for his unwavering support and acknowledged the critical role played by the Katsina State Government and residents in aiding police efforts to combat crime.

“The safety and security of Katsina remain our top priority,” Aliyu assured, emphasizing that the fight against crime will continue with renewed vigour.
