Katsina State has been hailed as a shining example of digital transformation in Northern Nigeria by the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijjani, during a working visit to the Katsina State Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (KATDICT).
Dr. Tijjani, who was in Katsina to engage with participants of the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program, described the state’s efforts under Governor Dikko Umaru Radda as a “model for digital growth and innovation.” He was warmly received by the Director General of KATDICT, Malam Naufal Ahmed.
While addressing the 3MTT participants, the minister expressed satisfaction with their performance and urged them to apply their newly acquired skills towards productive innovation. He emphasized that President Bola Ahmed Tinibu’s administration is determined to empower millions of Nigerian youths through digital innovation initiatives — a move aimed at reducing reliance on white-collar jobs and fostering tech-driven entrepreneurship.
Dr. Tijjani commended Governor Radda for placing digital transformation high on his administration’s agenda, which he said led to the establishment of KATDICT — a move he described as both visionary and timely.
In response, DG Naufal Ahmed appreciated the minister’s visit and reaffirmed KATDICT’s commitment to aligning with the federal government’s digital economy vision. He said the visit would open doors for deeper collaboration with the ministry.
With Katsina setting the pace, Nigeria’s digital future is looking brighter than ever.
