The long arm of the law has finally caught up with one of Akwa Ibom’s most feared cultists, as the State Police Command announced the arrest of Ubong Aniefiok Edit, infamously known as “Maf Fine Face,” in the early hours of Friday.
The suspected Mafia Confraternity member, believed to be the ringleader of a four-man burglary syndicate, was apprehended by police operatives around 3:30 AM while returning from a burglary operation. Recovered from the suspect were a generator alternator and a Qlink motorcycle bearing registration number ONC503QV.
According to a press statement signed by DSP Timfon John, the gang had long plagued the Idoro Road axis and nearby neighborhoods, breaking into homes, shops, and uncompleted buildings to cart away valuables.
“The arrest of ‘Maf Fine Face’ is a major breakthrough. We are actively pursuing the remaining members of his gang who are still on the run,” the statement read.
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements as it intensifies efforts to dismantle the syndicate completely.
