Political Earthquake in Abuja: Governor Radda Storms National Assembly as 3 Katsina Reps Dump PDP for APC

Katsina state government

In a momentous political realignment, Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda led a powerful Katsina delegation to the National Assembly earlier today to witness the formal defection of three federal lawmakers from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The House of Representatives chamber buzzed with energy as Hon. Salisu Yusuf Majigiri (Mashi/Dutsi), Hon. Aliyu Iliyasu Ruma (Batsari/Safana/Danmusa), and Hon. Abdullahi Balarabe Dabai (Bakori/Danja) announced their switch, signaling a major blow to the opposition in Katsina State.

Joining Governor Radda at the historic event were top Katsina figures including former Governor Barrister Ibrahim Shehu Shema, Chief of Staff Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, Principal Private Secretary Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji, APC State Chairman Alhaji Muhammad Sani Aliyu Daura, NEPAD National Coordinator Jabiru Salisu Tsauri, and political strategist Shamsu Sule Funtua.

Welcoming the defectors, Governor Radda described the move as a “resounding vote of confidence” in the APC’s leadership, both at the state and national levels.

He hailed the unity it reflects and affirmed the party’s readiness to deliver on its renewed mandate.

With this defection, Katsina’s political landscape inches further into APC’s grasp—raising fresh questions about the PDP’s future in the state.
