One Victim Rescued, Community Watch Corps Member Injured

FASKARI, May 5, 2025 — In a swift and courageous operation, the Katsina State Police Command successfully thwarted a kidnap attempt in Faskari Local Government Area, rescuing a 23-year-old male victim, Abu Iro, and recovering a locally made AK-47 rifle and a red Boxer motorcycle.

The attack occurred on May 2nd, when suspected bandits ambushed the victim, inflicting a severe machete wound to his head during the abduction attempt. Promptly responding to a distress report, a joint team of police officers and members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC), led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Faskari, stormed the scene, forcing the attackers to flee.
