Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni has called on his counterparts from Borno, Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, and Bauchi States to double down on collaboration in tackling the resurging wave of insecurity confronting the North-East region.

Speaking as host of the 11th North East Governors Forum (NEGF) meeting held in Damaturu, Governor Buni emphasized the urgency of a united front in confronting insurgency, banditry, and other criminal activities threatening peace and development across the region.

“We must intensify our synergy and collective resolve to halt the resurgence of security challenges. The lives and well-being of our people depend on our unity, vigilance, and strategic coordination,” Governor Buni declared.

He stressed that while significant gains had been recorded in recent years, the evolving nature of threats demands smarter, faster, and more coordinated responses from all member states.

The meeting brought together key stakeholders and security experts to review strategies, assess progress, and strengthen inter-state cooperation in intelligence sharing, border patrols, and humanitarian support.

The North East Governors Forum continues to play a critical role in shaping regional security policy and ensuring the stability necessary for socio-economic growth.
