In a shocking turn of events, a Nigerian Air Force NAF personnel has been sentenced to death by hanging for the cold-blooded murder of a female colleague, driven by jealousy and rage.
The convicted officer, who was attached to the Air Force Base in Makurdi, brutally stabbed Aircraftwoman (ACW) Blessing Jaka to death in what authorities described as a premeditated act fueled by possessiveness and obsession.
The court martial, which sat in Makurdi, found the accused guilty after overwhelming evidence and witness testimonies revealed that he attacked the victim over suspicions of infidelity and rejection. The incident, which occurred in 2022, had sent shockwaves across military circles and the general public.
Delivering judgment, the military court declared the act as “a gross violation of military ethics and human life,” handing down the maximum penalty to serve as a deterrent to others.
NAF authorities have reiterated their zero-tolerance stance on indiscipline and violent behavior, even among their own ranks.
