Security operatives in Kaduna State have arrested a 25-year-old man, Rabiu Usman, suspected of collaborating with bandits after a flagged financial transaction in Giwa Local Government Area.
According to reliable police sources, the suspect was taken into custody on April 28 by officers attached to the Kidandan Police Division.
The arrest followed a report filed by 27-year-old Point of Sale (POS) operator, Kabiru Abdullahi, based in Galadimawa. Abdullahi had raised concerns after Usman approached him on April 26, requesting to use his account for a money transfer from a relative, later identified as Ibrahim Bature.
Authorities say that Bature is on their watchlist for suspected banditry. Acting swiftly on the alert, the police moved in and apprehended Usman when he came to claim the transferred funds.
Usman is currently being held and is assisting investigators with crucial information. Meanwhile, the search continues for Ibrahim Bature, who remains at large.
The Kaduna State Police Command has urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities promptly to aid ongoing security efforts in the state.
