Terror struck Eleyin Village near Isanlu Isin, Kwara State, on Friday when five armed hoodlums ambushed two Toyota Corolla vehicles and abducted five passengers in a brazen daylight attack.
Eyewitnesses told Zagazola Media that the assailants forcefully stopped the vehicles before dragging the victims into the surrounding bush.
Acting swiftly, a joint team of Nigerian Army troops, police operatives, and local vigilantes launched an intensive search-and-rescue operation. After hours of painstaking efforts combing the thick forest, two of the kidnapped victims, identified as Ganiyu Ajayi and Kolawole Adeyemi, were successfully rescued.
Security sources confirmed that efforts are still ongoing to locate and rescue the remaining three abducted passengers.
Authorities have assured residents that security patrols have been intensified in the area to prevent further attacks and ensure the safe return of the victims.
