I am not the one who has read the announcement of Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe as the new Amirul Hajj in Katsina State. I forwarded it keenly, and the comments, accolades and public acceptability were intriguing for me to overlook. These signal Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has again made a perfect choice in this sacred responsibility. A Governor with a knack for putting the right people in the right positions.
Deputy Governor Jobe is a man with an impressive pedigree, that makes him, without question, a round peg in a round hole. The white beard man is known for his prudent management of resources. And to oversee the long list of logistics and financial considerations won’t be tasking endeavour for him, rather a hitch free Hajj operation should be expected.
History is never a bastard, whatever you do, at every position you hold, history will tell. For that, as the former Commissioner of Banking and Finance in the Home of Hospitality, Malam Jobe established himself as a banker of repute whose financial acumen is beyond reproach. Anyone who dares to challenge his wealth of experience in financial management will surely be disappointed. I repeat graciously disappointed.
Without disagreement, the Hajj operation requires coordinating thousands of pilgrims, and wise ones said human beings are the most difficult species to manage in the world. I am convinced, our new Amirul Hajj is a natural leader. He has diplomatic skills to ensure this massive undertaking proceeds without hitches.
The Deputy Governor’s service to the community and pure respect for traditional stool earned him the Sarkin Fulani Jobe. One of the top traditional title that’s assigned to selected few in the emirate. Sure I am that Malam Jobe will explore this title to form needed alliance with the traditional institution to give the best of service.
Governor Radda, ever the man of action is building upon the solid foundation laid by the immediate Amirul Hajj Alhaji Tukur Jikamshi, whose tenure saw successful airlifting of pilgrims to and from the Holy Land without fuss. This continuity of excellence is exactly what our state needs.
Malam Jobe will be inaugurated in a few days time alongside other members of the delegation, then, Katsina pilgrims can expect the highest level of care and attention, streamlined processes and enhanced services. Jobe’s reputation for resilience means that any apocalypse that may arise will be swiftly addressed with innovative solutions.
While we prepare for the upcoming Hajj season, there’s every reason to be optimistic. The future is indeed bright for Katsina State. With leaders like Dikko Umaru Radda and Faruk Lawal Jobe, our state will continue its march towards greatness.
It’s on this note that I convey my warmest congratulations to the latest Amirul Hajj Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe on this call to service. I wish him success as he steers this ship. And I congratulate all intending pilgrims, from here, we’re committed to Building a Katsina where we all can be proud to call ours.
