Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has inspected the proposed site targeted for the construction of a Centre for Islamic Studies in Funtua. The school, to be constructed by a Kuwait-based humanitarian organization, would consist of blocks of classrooms, mosque, administrative block, and shops to generate revenue for the upkeep of the facility.
The Governor directed the demarcation of land for the project, carved out from Government Secondary School Funtua’s property.
The Governor who also inspected renovations of classrooms at the Model Quranic School within the site, assured government intention to renovate the remaining classes accommodating over one thousand students.
Earlier, while conducting the Governor around the site, Director of Islamic Education Bureau, Mallam Salisu Abdullahi Bakori, informed that representatives of the Kuwait humanitarian organization had already inspected the site preparatory to commencing construction work by the end of next month.
Alhaji Salisu Bakori added that the bureau used part of the five million naira released by the state government to renovate two out of four blocks of the existing Quranic model school.
