The National Orientation Agency NOA has reaffirmed its commitment to work hand in hand with the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Yobe State Council.
This was disclosed by the Zonal Director of NOA for North East, Alhaji Ali Audu, during a courtesy visit to NUJ Secretariat in Damaturu.
Ali Audu, emphasized the importance of collaboration between the two bodies, noting that the media plays an important role in information dissemination and national development.
He stated that NOA is ready to strengthen its partnership with the NUJ in order to enhance public enlightenment, promote national values, and ensure accurate communication between the government and its citizens.
The NUJ Chairman, Comrade Rajab Muhammad Ismael, in his remarks, welcomed the delegation and expressed readiness to support the NOA’s programs and campaigns across the state.
As a concerned citizen and advocate for transparency and inclusive governance, Comrade Rajab, call on the National Orientation Agency (NOA) to take deliberate steps in bringing the Open Government Partnership (OGP) to Yobe state.
Yobe, have been left behind for too long, missing out on the benefits of citizen-driven governance, accountability, and improved service delivery that OGP offers.
It is time to bridge this gap and ensure that citizens are not excluded from the national movement toward openness and development.
He praised the agency’s efforts in promoting peace, unity, and civic responsibilities among Nigerians.
The visit marked a synergy between NOA and NUJ Yobe State Council, aimed at effective grassroots communication and national reorientation.
Zonal Director commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for his commitment to the development of Yobe State.
During the visit, he was accompanied by the newly appointed State Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Moh’d Aliyu, along with his team.
The visit concluded with the presentation of pliers and cards as appreciation, followed by a group photograph to mark the partnership.
