Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed grief over the passing of veteran journalist, Alhaji Dahiru Coomassie.
In a condolence message issued today in Katsina, Governor Radda paid tribute to the late media icon who distinguished himself through decades of dedicated service in various capacities, including as a broadcaster at Katsina State Radio & Television and later as Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of Today Newspaper.
“Alhaji Coomassie’s contributions to journalism in Katsina State and Nigeria remain indelible. His commitment to truth, professionalism, and mentorship of younger journalists has left an enduring legacy in our state’s media space,” the Governor stated.
The Governor noted that the late journalist’s wealth of experience and institutional memory served as valuable resources for many media organizations and practitioners across generations.
Governor Radda extended condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) National Headquarters, and all media practitioners in the state, praying for the Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the departed and grant him Aljannah Firdaus.
