A suspected kidnapper, Chumo Alhaji of Babanla, has died after suffering multiple seizures while in police custody in Kwara State.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspect, arrested in connection with a plot to kidnap top figures in Ajase Ipo — including Shehu Garba, the Sreiki Fulani, and businessman Alhaji Ali Garba — began convulsing on April 12, 2025, around 10:00 a.m. He was rushed to the Police Clinic and treated for suspected epilepsy before being discharged.
Tragically, Alhaji suffered another seizure the following morning and was readmitted, but could not be saved. His remains have been deposited at the Oke Oyi Teaching Hospital for an autopsy as investigations continue.
