In a bold show of commitment to grassroots development, Dangote Cement Plc, Ibese Plant, has empowered hundreds of youths from its host communities through its Annual Youth Empowerment Programme, equipping them with life-changing skills and resources to build sustainable livelihoods.

It was a celebration of hope and opportunity as Dangote Cement, Ibese, rolled out its Annual Host Community Youths Empowerment Programme, reaffirming its dedication to youth development and community growth in Ogun State.

The 2025 edition featured comprehensive vocational training in areas such as tailoring, catering, hairdressing, welding, auto mechanics, and information technology. Beneficiaries—drawn from Ibese, Imasayi, Ilaro, and other surrounding communities—were not only trained but also provided with start-up kits and financial support to launch their businesses.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the Plant Director, Mr. Azad Nawabuddin, said the initiative is part of Dangote’s long-term strategy to empower host communities, reduce youth unemployment, and foster economic self-reliance.

“We believe in building communities by building people. These youths now have the skills and tools to become job creators, not just job seekers,” he stated.

Community leaders and government representatives hailed the company for consistently investing in the future of local youths, noting that the programme has produced hundreds of successful entrepreneurs since its inception.

A beneficiary, Toyin Adeyemi, who trained in fashion design, expressed gratitude: “Thanks to Dangote Cement, I now run my own tailoring business and even employ two apprentices.”

The empowerment programme is one of several corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives by Dangote Cement Ibese aimed at improving education, healthcare, and economic wellbeing in its host communities.

With every edition, Dangote Cement isn’t just producing cement—it’s building futures.
