The Borno State Government has announced a temporary power outage affecting Maiduguri and some surrounding local government areas due to ongoing routine maintenance on power lines and supporting infrastructure.
The outage, expected to last a short while, is part of efforts to improve electricity delivery across the affected areas.
The government is calling on residents to remain patient and cooperate with maintenance teams during the period. It also urged communities to protect public electricity infrastructure, such as transformers, poles, and cables, from potential vandalism or sabotage by criminal elements who may attempt to exploit the situation.
In addition, residents are advised to switch off domestic appliances to prevent damage from possible electrical surges during the restoration process.
