— CP Commends Officers, Urges Vigilance on Wounded Suspects
In a swift and heroic response, the Katsina State Police Command on April 7th, 2025, successfully foiled two separate kidnap attempts in Malumfashi and Kankia Local Government Areas, rescuing all abducted victims unhurt and recovering stolen animals.
According to a press release signed by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, armed bandits stormed Gidan Filoti and Gidan Mairabo villages in Malumfashi around 11:00 a.m., abducting two residents. Responding to a distress call, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) led a team of operatives to the scene, engaging the attackers in a fierce gun duel. The bandits fled with gunshot wounds, leaving behind the captives who were rescued unscathed.
In a similar operation, operatives from Kankia Division responded to a midnight alert on April 6th, 2025, following an attack on Gidan Yan Ali of Kurba village. Police outgunned the bandits, rescuing kidnapped women and recovering rustled animals.
Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Shehu, psc, fdc, praised the officers for their gallantry and tactical precision, calling on residents to report anyone nursing bullet wounds to security agencies. He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to intensifying efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
