FCCPC to Nigerians: Report Loan Sharks Harassing Businesses—”No Consumer Should Live in Fear”

Katsina state government

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission FCCPC has issued a strong warning to loan apps and businesses using threats and harassment to recover debts, urging Nigerians to stand up for their rights.

In a bold statement on Sunday, the commission declared, “No consumer should live in fear.” The FCCPC encouraged victims of intimidation, blackmail, and public shaming by digital lenders and other businesses to report such actions immediately.

The commission reaffirmed its commitment to protecting citizens from unethical practices, noting that while debts must be repaid, consumers must not be subjected to abuse or trauma in the process.

Nigerians are urged to use the FCCPC’s complaint channels to expose violators as the commission intensifies its clampdown on rogue operators in the financial sector.
