Tinubu Reshuffles NNPC Board, Appoints New Leadership

Katsina state government

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reconstituted the board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company NNPC Limited, removing Chairman Chief Pius Akinyelure and Group CEO Mallam Mele Kyari, alongside other members appointed in November 2023.

In the sweeping shake-up, Tinubu appointed Ahmadu Musa Kida as Non-Executive Chairman and Engineer Bashir Bayo Ojulari as Group CEO. The 11-member board also includes representatives from all geopolitical zones, with a mandate to enhance efficiency, restore investor confidence, and drive oil and gas sector growth.
