Governor Fubara Speaks Out: Calls for Peace Amid Rivers Political Crisis

Katsina state government

Port Harcourt—Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has reaffirmed his commitment to peace, stability, and good governance, despite ongoing political tensions in the state.

In a public address, Governor Fubara assured Rivers people that his administration remains dedicated to protecting lives, upholding constitutional order, and ensuring continuous progress. He emphasized that every decision made—especially following President Tinibu’s intervention and the Supreme Court’s ruling—was in good faith and aimed at restoring normalcy.

However, the Governor lamented that efforts to foster unity had been met with resistance from members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, making genuine peace difficult. Despite political disagreements, he reassured citizens that salaries were being paid, major projects were ongoing, and the state remained safe under his leadership.

“We are a resilient people, and we will face this situation with wisdom, patience, and unwavering faith in the democratic process,” he declared.

God bless Rivers State. God bless Nigeria.
