Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have thwarted a late-night kidnapping attempt in Turare Village, Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State, rescuing two women from armed bandits.
The attack occurred around 2:18 a.m. when gunmen stormed the village and abducted two wives of a local resident, Yusuf Tsalha Mai Sa’ida. Acting on intelligence, troops swiftly mobilized to the scene, engaging the bandits in a fierce gun battle. Overpowered, the criminals abandoned their captives and fled into the bush, possibly with gunshot wounds.
The rescued women, identified as 35-year-old Dahara Yusuf and 25-year-old Jamila Yusuf, were safely reunited with their family. Security forces have intensified surveillance in the area to track down the fleeing assailants.
