Armed bandits suspected to be loyalists of a notorious kingpin, Bello Kaura, launched a violent attack on Adabka community in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State, abducting several residents and leaving five others with severe injuries.
The attack, which occurred around 7 a.m. on Thursday, sent shockwaves through the community. According to intelligence sources, local youths mobilized in a daring attempt to rescue the abducted victims but were ambushed by the heavily armed assailants.
“The armed men opened fire on the youths, leaving five of them critically injured,” a source told Zagazola Makama.
The injured victims were rushed to the General Hospital, Bukkuyum, for treatment, while security operatives have since been deployed to restore calm in the area.
This latest assault adds to the growing concerns over the persistent insecurity plaguing Zamfara, as residents continue to live in fear of relentless attacks.
