Today marks a historic moment for the people of Dandagoro as the community celebrates the opening of a newly branded healthcare facility—Garkuwa Clinic and Maternity. The much-needed clinic is expected to bridge the gap in maternal and general healthcare services for residents.
Speaking at the inauguration, Abdulkadir Sani Garkuwan Dandagoro, the visionary behind the project, expressed his joy in witnessing the occasion. Reflecting on his personal experience, he shared how he once struggled to find a hospital bed for his wife during delivery, which forced him to seek private healthcare.
That moment, he said, fueled his passion to establish an affordable and accessible clinic for the community.
“I am not a politician, and I will never participate in politics due to my work. My goal is to provide quality healthcare for those who cannot afford private hospitals outside our community,” Garkuwa stated.
The newly inaugurated Garkuwa Clinic and Maternity boasts essential facilities, including a maternity ward, male ward, laboratory, and other medical units to ensure effective healthcare delivery.
The Magaji of Dandagoro, while commending Garkuwa’s generosity, urged residents to utilize and support the facility. A senior doctor from General Hospital Katsina also advised the clinic staff to refer complex cases to higher medical institutions when necessary.
With this milestone, Dandagoro now moves closer to ensuring safer childbirth and improved healthcare services for all.
