The North-East Development Commission NEDC disburses food items to about 1900 households particularly those people affected by Boko Haram and other disasters.
The State Coordinator of the commission Prof Ali Ibrahim Abbas stated this during handing over the food items to Yobe state government officials to communities that affected by insurgency and other disasters in the state.
In his speech the state cordinator of the commission said, “Today we are here in damaturu to witness a symbolic handing over of food items to affected communities, either as a result of boko haram or other form of disasters the nine local government areas of the state of Damaturu, Gujba, Bursari, Geidam Yunusari among others and and also our friend and partners in humanitarian work, People Living with Disabilities across local government in Yobe state.
We are here instructions of the Managing Director of the North-East Development Commission (NEDC) Alhaji Muhammed Alkali symbolically handover food items to 1,900 direct beneficiaries who have been in one way or the other affected by Boko Haram insurgency because we are approaching Ramadan.
This is because the commission feels that Yobe state government needs to be supported can its effort towards alleviating the suffering of people with special needs.

She thanked the commission and State Coordinator for his hardwork and listening ears and facilitating cordial relationship with the state throw the ministry of humanitarian affairs.
The commissioner also handed over the list of the beneficiaries to the chairman Yobe commission of persons with disability for onward action.
In his remarks, Alhaji Bura Gabai, the Chairman Yobe Commission of Persons with Disability also thanked NEDC for the support and yoga state government under the administration of Gov Mai Mala Buni for creating commission or passions with disability respectively.
