The Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT, Borno State wing, has organized a Study Circle Leadership Workshop for its State Executive Council members. The event, held at the Babagana Wakil Integrated Higher Islamic School Conference Hall along Dandal Way, Shehu Palace, focused on enhancing leadership skills among union leaders.
Declaring the workshop open, the Commissioner for Education, Eng. Lawan Abba Wakilbe, represented by a director from the ministry, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to investing in education.
In his welcome address, NUT State Chairman, Audu Garba Zari, commended the Borno State Government for its continued support of the education sector despite security challenges. He urged participants to take full advantage of the training.
Alhaji Ali Kaka, Executive Chairman of the Senior Secondary School Education Board, delivered a fraternal message, emphasizing the need for participants to apply leadership principles through mentorship and guidance.
Also speaking, Dr. Malah Kulloma, Chairman of the Education Secretaries Forum, underscored the workshop’s goal of enhancing professionalism among union members. He praised the strong partnership between the union and the state in advancing educational standards.
The event also featured remarks from TRCN State Coordinator, Fati Ali Kyari, who acknowledged the government’s dedication to improving education in Borno.
