Fresh details have emerged regarding the abduction of Brig. Gen. Maharazu Tsiga, who is reportedly being held captive by the infamous bandit kingpin, Babaro, in Bununu Forest, Faskari LGA, Katsina State.
The shocking revelation came from victims recently released by Babaro’s gang. Residents of Kandarawa community in Bakori LGA, who were abducted on January 14, 2025, disclosed that they saw Gen. Tsiga in captivity before their release. After paying a hefty ransom of ₦30 million, the former captives informed their families that the general was alive and receiving bottled water and basic care.
Babaro, a notorious criminal, has been linked to multiple attacks across Ƙankara, Malumfashi, Bakori, Faskari, and Funtua LGAs. His reign of terror continues to pose a major security challenge in Katsina State.
Authorities are yet to confirm the latest reports, but concerns are mounting over Gen. Tsiga’s fate as security forces intensify efforts to track down the bandit leader and secure the general’s release.
