NSCDC Katsina Boss Meets Buhari in Daura

In a move to strengthen security collaboration and foster relationships with esteemed figures, the Katsina State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant of Corps Aminu Datti Ahmad, paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, former President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at his residence in Daura, Katsina State.

During the visit, Commandant Ahmad extended the warm greetings of the Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi PhD, mni, OFR, and reaffirmed the NSCDC’s commitment to security and the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure across the country.

He expressed deep appreciation for the former President’s approval of the visit and the warm reception accorded to him and his team. Ahmad also acknowledged Buhari’s immense contributions to the nation and sought his fatherly advice, blessings, and guidance in executing the NSCDC’s mandate effectively.

“As a father and a leader, I am here today with my team to seek your fatherly advice, blessings, and guidance to promote safety, security, and execute other mandates of the NSCDC in the state,” Commandant Ahmad stated.

In his remarks, former President Muhammadu Buhari welcomed Commandant Ahmad and commended the NSCDC for its dedication and remarkable progress over the years. He encouraged the State Commandant to remain committed to service, emphasizing the importance of integrity, honesty, and patriotism in discharging his duties.

Buhari further urged the NSCDC leadership to remain loyal, dedicated, and proactive in fulfilling its responsibilities to ensure a safer Katsina State and Nigeria at large.

In another development, Commandant Ahmad also received the Project Manager of Search for Common Ground at the NSCDC Katsina State Headquarters. The visit was aimed at fostering collaboration between the Corps and the organization in strengthening peace and security in the state.

The Project Manager highlighted key areas of partnership, including enhancing early warning and early response mechanisms, capacity-building programs, and the implementation of a memorandum of understanding signed at the NSCDC National Headquarters.

Responding, Commandant Ahmad assured the delegation of NSCDC Katsina’s readiness to collaborate in promoting safety and security across the state, leveraging the Corps’ grassroots reach and expertise in crisis response.

With these engagements, the NSCDC Katsina Command continues to strengthen strategic partnerships, reinforcing its commitment to safeguarding lives and property in the state.
