Governor Radda Pledges To Establish Computer Lab, Technical Workshop at GDSS Maiadua

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has pledged to establish a computer laboratory and technical workshop at Government Day Secondary School Maiadua.

The Governor made this commitment following a plea by students, led by Mohammed Usman S-Fulani and Asmau Sirajo who highlighted challenges facing the students in the area.

“Our students currently travel to neighbouring schools in Dumorkhol or Daura for practicals and JAMB registration,” the student representatives explained.

Governor Radda, addressing their concerns, stated that “the Ministry of Education will handle the establishment of these vital educational facilities to cater for the students’ needs.”

During the visit to Maiadua Local Government, the Governor flag-off 4.5-kilometer Maiadua-Daba-Botsotsuwa road project. The road, which cost N1.4 billion is a World Bank-assisted project under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).

Governor Radda also revealed plans to upgrade Maiadua International Market to accommodate growing cross-border trade and announced the upcoming construction of the Tadi-Tsabu road to enhance regional connectivity.

Earlier, in his remarks, the State Commissioner for Rural and Social Development, Prof. Abdulhamid Ahmed, praised the Governor’s inclusive approach to development.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters Alhaji Ya’u Umar Gwajo Gwajo and the Chairman of Maiadua LG Alhaji Mohammed Salisu Na-Allahu, described the road as “a historic route that links people of Maiadua to other communities.”
