The Katsina State Road Traffic Authority KASSAROTA has firmly disassociated itself from illegal activities perpetrated by individuals posing as its officers. These impostors have reportedly been extorting money from unsuspecting motorists and motorcyclists under the guise of law enforcement, fabricating offenses, and unlawfully seizing vehicles.
In a statement issued by the Authority’s Public Relations Officer, Marwana Abubakar Kofar Sauri, KASSAROTA declared such acts as unethical and entirely unauthorized. “These fraudulent actions contradict the operational standards and principles that guide our operations,” the statement read.
The Director General, Major Garba Yahaya Rimi (Rtd.), emphasized KASSAROTA’s zero-tolerance policy toward corruption and exploitation, urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest authorities.
KASSAROTA also called on community leaders and stakeholders to join hands in spreading awareness about the impostors and collaborate with law enforcement to apprehend those responsible.
The Authority reassured the public of its unwavering commitment to professionalism and road user safety while urging caution against falling victim to these schemes.
