The Katsina Youth Craft Village (KYCV) and Aliko Dangote Ultra Modern Skill Acquisition Centre (ADUMSAC), have signed an agreement to enhance vocational training and skills development.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed at ADUMSAC’s facility in Kano, will develop advanced training infrastructure and implement international standards in vocational education.
Speaking during the signing of the MoU, the State Coordinator of KYCV, Engr. Kabir Abdullahi Kofar Soro said, “This collaboration represents a monumental stride in our efforts to align KYCV with global best practices and enhance our operational capacity to meet the growing demands of the youth population.
Engr. Abdullahi emphasized that the initiative aligns with Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda’s vision for youth development.
“The Governor’s dedication to youth empowerment and skill development has laid the foundation for this MoU success,” KYCV Coordinator added.
He added that the partnership includes plans to organize training and workshops for KYCV staff and trainees, facility exchange and provide guidance and support for KYCV in its application for National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
Speaking on the partnership roles, the Centre Coordinator, Alkasim Hussaini, noted that the ADUMSAC will provide technical expertise and guidance on accreditation and curriculum development process, equipment selection and facility setup.
“We’ll also facilitate access to ADUMSAC’s facilities, equipment and expertise for KYCV staff and trainees,” Hussaini stated.
The agreement between KYCV and ADUMSAC will develop technical training facilities to foster institutional knowledge exchange and establish an international benchmark for skills acquisition.

This is a welcome development. But the selection of the students need to be base on a standard criteria, and there is a need for Post training mentoring.
Those with excellent performance can be use as future trainers at their community level.
But we need to coordinate the proliferation of each trade to avoid flooding the market.
With time an export plan can be made including online trading.
