The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC Katsina State Command, led by Commandant Aminu Datti Ahmad stood in solidarity with the nation on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, to honor the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes.
The solemn occasion, held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp on Mani Road, Katsina, was graced by His Excellency, Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda (PhD, CON), alongside other high-ranking officials, including Deputy Governor Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe, Speaker of the State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya (represented by Hon. Abduljalal Haruna Runka), and Emir of Katsina, Alhaji (Dr.) Abdulmumini Kabir Usman (CFR), represented by Madawakin Katsina.
Governor Radda commended the gallantry and sacrifices of the armed forces, expressing gratitude for their pivotal role in safeguarding peace and security across the state and the nation. “Their courage and sacrifice will forever remain etched in our hearts,” the Governor remarked.
The commemoration featured a parade, the laying of wreaths, the symbolic release of pigeons, and a moment of silence for the departed. Special prayers were also offered for the repose of the souls of the fallen heroes.
Commandant Aminu Datti Ahmad reaffirmed the NSCDC’s commitment to protecting lives and property, ensuring the safety of Katsina State, and upholding the legacy of the nation’s heroes.
