A-One Day capacity building workshop with the theme: Unlockng export potential strategies for success has been held in Katsina State by the State Investment Promotion Agency (KIPA)
Addressing participants at event, the Governor of Katsina state, Mal. Dikko Umaru Radda said that the workshop was critical , stressing that his administration was committed to promoting Investment and non oil sector in the state.
He said that Agriculture was the backbone of the economy of the state, nothing that his administration established irrigation authority, and also distributed seeds with 50% subsidy.
“He said that the aim of capacity Building was to create awareness and build the capacity of exporters to export their products outside the country”.
He added that the workshop would help to bring economic prosperity and income of the citizens of the state.
He also said regulatory agencies was designed to guide all the participants, rules and regulations governing on global best practices export outside the world urged participants to dedicate themselves and give full attention and ensure they have take away from the capacity Building and sensitization workshop.
In his welcome address , the Director, General Katsina State Investment Promotion agency (KIPA) ,Ibrahim Tukur Jakamshi said that the motive behind the workshop was to expose the generality of business communities in Katsina specially those in agric business to expose them to the Potential that exists for export market across the globe.
He explained that the workshop would bring knowledge and share experiences, stressing that the workshop would link the participants with business and also create market around the globe”.
He said that workshop would bring the participants closer to the regulatory authorities.
Jikamshi said that Katsina Investment Promotion Agency(KIPA )had already engaged with the organizations involved in value chain of the export to leaned, understand and create market for them.
A participant, Kabir Yusuf Executive Officer, Al -Amin logistics and Global Services Limited, who spoke on behalf of others, expressed gratitude to Katsina State Investment Promotion Agency for organizing the workshop and called on the people of the state to embrace businesses.
There were goodwill messages from Commissioner of Police Katsina State, Controller Nigeria Immigration Services, Katsina Command, and the Nigerian Custom Service, Katsina state Command.
Highlight of the event was panel discussion moderated by Mrs. Amina Abudulmalik the Northwest Regional Office Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC).
