Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has graced the opening ceremony of a new Jumaat Mosque in the Sandamu Town of Sandamu LG, Katsina State.
The mosque, named Masjid Sardauna was constructed through the generosity of Assistant Inspector General of Police, Mustapha Mohammed Bala, who currently serves as AIG for Zone 6, Calabar.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Governor Radda commended AIG Bala for constructing a religious edifice in the area.
The Governor passionately appealed to the benefitting communities for the judicious use of the gesture, advising them to set up committee that will ensure proper maintainance of the Mosque.
The special occasion was further distinguished by the presence of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruq Umar Faruq, who turbaned the Chief Imam of the Masjid Sardauna, Imam Yusuf Muhammad. He charged religious leaders to intensify effort in educating their followers on the teaches and lessons of Islam.
Imam Muhammad further led two Raka’at prayers at the mosque. In his Jumaat sermon, he stressed the importance of investing in Islamic activities to seek reward from Almighty Allah.
Sheikh Abdullahi Kaduna, on his part, urged Muslim brothers and sisters to intensify efforts in praying for leaders in the country.
The Governor was accompanied by Members of the State Executive Council and the top government functionaries in the country.
