In a fierce territorial clash near Dori, northern Burkina Faso, militants from Jama’at Nasr al-Islam wal Muslimin (JNIM) successfully repelled an attack by Islamic State in the Greater Sahara (ISIS-GS) fighters on Thursday. The confrontation left four ISIS-GS combatants dead, highlighting the intense rivalry between these jihadist groups for control in the Sahel region.
