The Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, has debunked allegations of a military jet bombing civilian structures in Silame Local Government Area, Sokoto State. Addressing the claims, Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre, clarified that the recent airstrikes targeted confirmed hideouts of the Lakurawa terrorist group in Gidan Sama and Rumtuwa.
“All operations are guided by precise intelligence and reconnaissance, prioritizing civilian safety while neutralizing threats,” Abdullahi stated.
He urged the public to disregard unverified reports, warning that terrorist factions often exploit media platforms to spread disinformation and disrupt military progress.
The Joint Task Force reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives while decisively tackling terrorism and banditry across the North West region.
