Yobe Prioritizes Quality Education, Empowers Entrepreneurs with N50M Grants

In a bold move to ensure quality education, the Yobe State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing teaching and learning through the provision of instructional materials, a conducive learning environment, and rigorous monitoring and supervision of schools. Governor Mai Mala Buni emphasized the importance of executing all projects awarded by the state’s education board to achieve sustainable progress.

Meanwhile, the Governor also flagged off the distribution of N50 million cash grants and start-up kits to 500 beneficiaries trained by the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The beneficiaries, who received N100,000 each alongside equipment, were trained in soap-making, detergent production, charcoal, shoe-making, and disinfectant production.

Governor Buni urged the recipients to utilize the opportunity wisely, stating, “This initiative aims to provide a pathway to sustainable income generation. Make good use of this support to secure a brighter future for yourselves and your families.”

The dual focus on education and economic empowerment reflects Yobe’s resolve to build a resilient and prosperous future for its people.
