Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai has made tremendous strides in Yobe South, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of his constituents. As highlighted by Yusuf Maina, one of the senator’s strong supporters, Senator Bomai’s 2024 scorecard is a testament to his dedication to the people of Yobe South during an interview with our Correspondent.

On infrastructural development, according to him, Senator Bomai has prioritized road construction, focusing on township roads in Fika town, Gadaka town, Damagum, and Sabon Garin Nangere. This effort has significantly improved the connectivity and accessibility of these areas, fostering economic growth and development.

“To address the perennial issue of water scarcity, Senator Bomai initiated the construction of 60 solar-powered boreholes across Yobe South. This project has provided clean drinking water to at least 300 villages, including Tarajim, Garin Musa, and Old Nangere in Nangere LGA; Mamudo and Chichi in Potiskum LGA; Dogo Abare and Garin Gamji in Fika LGA; and Borno Kichi and Damagum in Fune LGA”.

He added that “Senator Bomai has also worked tirelessly to improve electricity supply in Yobe South. He provided 30 electric transformers to areas plagued by transformer-related issues and distributed 3,500 solar street lights across rural and urban areas, ensuring that communities have access to reliable and sustainable energy”.

“In the face of natural disasters, Senator Bomai has demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of his constituents. He donated ₦20,000,000 to flood victims and distributed essential relief materials, including blankets, wrappers, and support for children affected by floods. Additionally, he initiated a two-month malaria fumigation program across 44 wards in Yobe South, underscoring his dedication to public health”.
