The N692.2 billion budget marks a modest increase of N10 billion from the initial proposal of N682.2 billion submitted on November 25, 2024. The adjustment, according to the Katsina State House of Assembly, reflects meticulous legislative scrutiny aimed at addressing the aspirations of the people.

Governor Radda, during the signing ceremony, praised the State Assembly and MDAs for their dedication, which he said ensured the production of a transparent and goal-oriented budget. He highlighted Katsina’s remarkable progress, noting that recurrent expenditure has been reduced to 22.8% of the total budget, down from 28% in 2024, allowing over 77% of the budget to be devoted to capital projects.

“Our focus on capital projects demonstrates our determination to make life better for our citizens and reduce poverty. Education leads our priorities, followed by agriculture, as these sectors are critical to building a self-reliant society,” Radda stated.
